Wild Mountain

Wild Mountain is having Scout Days this summer for discounted days of unlimited water rides. We need your input, when to go. Here is a pdf of the flyer. Take a look and let your Patrol Leader or Senior Patrol Leader know what you'd like to do, so we can arrange car pooling.

Flag Retirement

Gethsemane got a new flag from a member currently serving in Iraq. The flag flew over there. And so Pastor Rick asked the Scouts to do a ceremony. The flag that the pack bought for School a couple years ago, was torn and tatered. It actually was replaced a few weeks ago. A member of the congregation had given me an old, torn flag for retirement, because he knew I was a leader in the troop. We put that flag up before the service.

After the service, the Scouts brought it down, folded it properly. The gathered around the fire, repeated the Scout Oath, and put the fire on the flames. It brought tears to the eyes of at least one elderly veteran.

I'm happy to see the boys show so much respect for the flag. They did a fantastic job.
